NNINS Empowers Virginia Communities with over $25,000 in Grants and Donations

Northern Neck Insurance has stepped up its commitment to Virginia communities, announcing substantial donations to nine organizations through its community giving program. With a total sum of $25,200 allocated, these grants support initiatives benefitting families and communities across the state.

The community grants, awarded by the company's Community Giving Team, reflect Northern Neck Insurance's dedication to fostering thriving communities. Mike Antonio, NNINS Creative Director and head of the Community Giving Program, emphasized the company's belief in the power of community support. "Our community giving program expands our ability to positively impact communities beyond providing valuable insurance products," Antonio said.

Seven organizations were selected from a pool of 24 applicants aligned with NNINS' grant priorities. These include support for Virginia Families, Diversity & Inclusion, Safe & Affordable Housing, Community Safety, Emergency Response, Virginia History & Culture, and Virginia's Natural Environment.

The grant recipients represent a diverse range of causes and initiatives:

  • Caroline County Habitat for Humanity in Bowling Green, received $5,000 for two homeownership programs: Self-Help Program and Teachers & First Responders Program.
  • The Heart Leaf Center in Fairfax, received $5,000 to bolster their mental health services and care for children and families that identify as part of a racially underserved community.
  • Kilmarnock Museum in Kilmarnock, was granted $2,500 for repairs, maintenance, and beautification of their building.
  • LovABLE Services (Chris's Coffee & Custard Shop) in Roanoke, was awarded $2,000 to bolster their training program serving the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Northern Neck Botanical Gardens in Kilmarnock, received $2,000 to aid in the development and planning of a public botanical garden and education center.

  • Reedville Fishermen's Museum in Reedville, received $2,500 to build outdoor exhibit signage.
Moreover, Northern Neck Insurance's employees, through the Employees Charitable Giving Fund, directed a $5,200 donation to be evenly split between Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck (Kilmarnock), and Healthy Harvest Food Bank (Warsaw).

Looking ahead, NNINS’ next grant cycle is slated to open in the fall of 2025. For more details, interested parties are encouraged to visit the company's website at www.nnins.com/community.
